Celebrity Cruises “Eclipse” Opens the St. Petersburg 2010 Cruise Season
|
 |
| Today - on a bright and sunny morning - the “Eclipse” sailed into the new Sea Facade cruise ship port of St. Petersburg. The day was most beautiful and the passengers delighted to have arrived in St. Petersburg during their Baltic voyage. DenRus port staff welcomed and received all passengers, who had booked their tours with our company.
During a brief conversation with some of the arriving guests, while they were rushing to their transportation units, our representatives asked them, how was the disembarkation organized by the ship? Everyone replied that Celebrity handled the situation excellently and smoothly. |

“There was neither any categorizing, nor any discrimination against those passengers, who had purchased their tours privately, and not participating in the ship’s own tours. The Moscow tour passengers were allowed to exit the ship first, and immediately after them we were allowed to disembark, too. So here we are, ready to start our DenRus tour!”
At the new St. Petersburg Cruise Passenger Terminal there are 36 passport control booths for each arriving ship, and provided they will all be manned , and continue working on each ship’s call, there should be no crowding to be expected.
The official scheduled arrival time of “Eclipse” was 07:00 AM, and the first DenRus tour bus on our “Complete St. Petersburg” tour departed at 07:40, and the second bus followed at 07:45. It is clear that all our passengers had carefully read our briefing and instructions regarding the arrival procedures in the morning of the first day in St. Petersburg. |

15 May, 2010 – Saturday:
DenRus welcomed all its passengers arriving in St. Petersburg aboard P&O’s Arcadia, and participating in our different selection of 2-day tours.
A sample letter of passengers on the ship:
"Dear Ali[DenRus General Director]
I just want to say how pleased we have been with DenRus. We had 2 fantastic days in St Petersburg.
Arranging our visit was made so easy, and you were able to include all our wishes. Just being able to tailor the tours to exactly our requirements was fantastic, and you made it so easy. We were able to make minor changes while we were en route.
Also our guide , Marsha , was brilliant. Her depth of knowledge is incredible, and she was so quick to tune into our needs and wishes. The driver was also excellent.
You did everything you said you would do. Thank you for arranging such a wonderful holiday.
If you don´t mind, I will send an email to The Daily Telegraph to tell them how good you are.
Best wishes to you and your team.
M.S.

16 May, 2010 – Sunday:
Star Princess arrived early in the morning at 06:30 AM in St. Petersburg with a large amount of participants on our 2-day “Complete St. Petersburg” tour. All participants disembarked extremely swiftly, and reported to our port agents at 06:40. They all checked in as a group, because they had obviously made an agreement between themselves to find each other during the cruise, and prior to the arrival in St. Petersburg, to gather together aboard the ship in the morning of the arrival , and then exit all as one group. Our last tour departed the port area around 07:20 AM. The unbelievably beautiful, warm, and sunny summer weather has continued in St. Petersburg since the 14th of May, when we opened our season.

25 May, 2010 – Friday: Star Princess arrived for her second St. Petersburg visit during the current Baltic cruise season, and unfortunately it rained solid almost both days. Regardless of that the touring spirit on our DenRus tours was kept high, thanks to our excellent guides. Here is one of of the many letters we have received from our gusts:
“Hello
We were on the “Star Princess”, which visited St. Petersburg on May 25 and 26. Although it was raining all the time, we had a great time on your tours.
We took the two day Value Excursion, and the ballet at night. We were able to see so many things and did not feel rushed. The lunches were very good as well.
We wish to thank Ludmilla, our guide for the two days, Svetlana, our guide for the ballet, and Tatyana, who booked our tours. Everything was great and we are so thankful for your service!
Best wishes,
